This week our young artists are investigating the stained glass work of Sigmar Polke. For the Grossmünster church in Germany Polke cut the semi-precious stone agate into thin slices that would let light pass through them and give the appearance of brightly glowing walls. Our 8-12 year olds looked at precious stones, crafted onto acetate and used the projector to enlarge work experimenting with light, dark, colour and shape. More spaces left on our 8-12 year old after school workshops in Hampstead. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
